Technology Transfer Services Recognized for Exemplary Workplace Practices

21-November-2011 – Technology Transfer Services, Inc. (TTS) is pleased to announce that it has been honored with the 2011 Alfred P. Sloan Award for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility. This prestigious award recognizes that the TTS team culture and work environment provides its people with the flexibility to balance their personal and professional lives. TTS ranks in the top 20 percent of employers nationally for policies and practices that incorporate workplace flexibility as part of an effective strategy to achieve business objectives.

“I am truly pleased that the programs we have put into place to ensure our employees have the environment they need to make them the best in our business has been recognized by this distinguished award,” said Louis Rivera, President and CEO of TTS. “It is especially gratifying to know that our employees took part in the process and validated our efforts to build a culture that is both positive and productive.”

This award, part of the national When Work Works project, recognizes employers of all sizes and types in the Tampa Bay area and across the country. Workplace flexibility—such as flextime, part-time work, and compressed workweeks—has been demonstrated to help businesses remain competitive while also benefiting employees as well.

“Our research consistently finds that employees in effective and flexible workplaces have greater engagement on the job and greater desire to stay with their organization. In addition, they report lower stress levels and better overall health,” said Ellen Galinsky, president of Families and Work Institute (FWI), a research think tank on workforce and workplace trends that administers the awards.
